My loss in US growth stocks in 2021
03 Jan 2022 (1644 views)

I invested $709,354 USD in US growth stocks in 2011. I suffered a paper loss of $286,822 on these stocks.

I realized profit on these stocks in 2020 and on sales made in 2021 which were not included in the above calculation. Overall, my gain might have covered the losses.

I did make a substantial gain on my investment in Tesla. This gain is not shown above.

I bought these stocks when they were showing big gains in 2020. Most of these stock were also included in the ARKK fund managed by Cathie Wood.

During 2020, many bloggers explained the business of these stocks. I bought into the stocks and made gains on the way up. Later, when the stocks fell, I bought them at lower prices. They continued to fall for the rest of 2021, leading to the loss below.

I am holding on to these stocks which showed an average loss of 63% below its peak during the past 52 weeks.

I will wait for the price to recover and will sell them at a lower loss.
