My view on Cosco Shipping Energy (1138.HK)

Cosco Shipping Energy released its 2020 financial results on 30 March.

The net income (i.e. profit) for 2020 increased to HK $2,381 million from $413 million for 2019.

Based on the increased profit, the price earning ratio for this stock is 5.49 times and the dividend yield is 7.01%.

The stock price is HKD 3.38 in Hong Kong, compared to the price of CNY 6.46 (HKD 7.8) in Shanghai. By buying the stock in Hong Kong, you will enjoy a discount of 56% compared to the price in Shanghai!

I am surprised that the stock price did not increase after the release of the 2020 financial results. 

Anyway, it represents a good value investment. I hold 200,000 shares at an average cost of $3.52. It now shows an unrealized loss of 4%. I will hold on to my shares until it increases to reflect its value.
