Delayed price increase for Tesla
02 Aug 2021 (335 views)

Tesla released its financial results for 2Q or 2021 on 26 July, after market closed. The results were excellent, and better than most analysts forecast.

The price increased modestly in the after market. However, it dropped from $660 to $630 within 2 days.

Apparently, the investors sold the stock after the "good news".

On 29 July, CEO Elon Musk tweeted that Tesla would be holding its Arificial Intelligence Day on 19 August. This gave a boost to the stock price. The investors must be expecting big announcements.

The stock price had since increased to $725, which is 15% higher than the low of $630 a few days ago.

I expect the price to continue to move up until AI day on 19 August. My target is $800.

I hold 500 shares. The increase of $95 over the post few days added $47,500 (USD) to my gain.

Earlier, I also held 500 shares when the price was around $750. It dropped after that and has now recovered most of the loss. If I compare the price now with the earlier high price, I am still seeing a small loss.

Note - I am sharing my recent experience in investing in this stock. I am not giving financial advice or recommending any buy or sell of this stock at any specific price.
