I started investing in Tesla in July 2019. I made a profit of $50,000 SGD for the first 6 months. I told my story in this e-book.  It can be downloaded free. 

Over the next two years, I probably realized a total profit of over $300,000 SGD on my investing in Tesla. My trading activities over the period of two years can be viewed in several posts in this website. Link.

Today, I will give an update of my adventure over the past month.

I held 500 shares of Tesla at $720 USD on  1 October 2021. I wanted to sell them at $800 after the release of the 3rd quarter financial results. 

The results were excellent, but the market did not move up much. Subsequently, there were other events that drove the drove the price in a wild fluctuation up to $1,077 on 29 October. 

I sold 100 shares at $808, 100 shares at $965  and 100 shares at $985.

Compared to my cost of $720, I realized a profit of $59,800 USD on these 300 shares.

If I held them to the current date, I would have made a gain of $107,100. So, by selling earlier, I realized a smaller gain.

If I had sold them at $800, which was my earlier target, I would have made a gain of $24,000.

So I am quite happy the profit on these 300 shares. 

I am still holding to 200 shares which have gained ($1077-$720) X 200 = $71,400.

My total profit on the 500 Tesla shares over the past month is $59,800 (realized) + $71,400 (unrealized) = $131.200 USD (SGD 175,000).

Wow.
