China stocks listed in US and Hong Kong

I compare the China stocks listed in US and in Hong Kong.

The US stocks are ADR (American depository deposits) and may represent a multiple of the ordinary shares. This is shown in the column ADR.

I convert the price quoted in US into HK$ by multiplying by 7.8 and divide by the number of shares (indicated under ADR) to get the HK equivaluent of 1 share.

I compare the ratio of the price in US against HK. The US price for Baidu is 3.1% lower than the HK price.

The first 7 stocks (starting from Baidu) trade at a discount in US. The last two stocks trade at a premium.

the ADR-to-Ord shares ratio is not always 1:1. Alibaba For example, 1 ADR : 8 Ord Shares
