Competing bids for SPH (T39.SI)
26 Nov 2021 (238 views)

I sold off all my SPH shares, so I have no interest in the EGM or in the two competing bids.

I do not have any opinion about both bids. If any investor is interested to know the merits, please read the analysis by the business journalists or the views by SIAS (Securities Industries Association of Singapore).

I sold off my SPH shares because the competing bids have pushed the price of SPH up to its realizable value (based on price to book value).

I do not like to hold the REITS (which are given as part of the purchase price) because they are fully valued. I expect the rental income to fall in the near future, as a large proportion of retail will be conducted online in the future.

There are many property stocks which are now traded at a big discount to its net asset value. I prefer to invest in these stocks.

You can read my analysis of these stocks in other posts in this website (https://fisca.sg).

Note - I am sharing my personal view. I am not giving investmen advice.
