Cathie Wood of ARK invest did extremely well in 2011. Her ETF funds were the top performers globally.
I agreed with her bullish assessments of Tesla. I followed her on several genomic stocks and growth stocks, which were described as "disruptive innovation".
However, I did not share her bullishness on bitcoin. I found her views on bitcoin and a few other "disruptive innovation stocks" to be too extreme.
Cathie Wood had a bad time towards the end of 2011 and well into 2022. Her ETF funds performed poorly. Many of her recommended stocks dropped by more than 50%.
I am holding on to some of the growth stocks. I bought these stocks when they dropped by 30% from their peak. They have since dropped by another 50% or more.
What is my view of Cathie Wood? I think that she is "too aggressive" in her unconventional views. Still, I am prepared to listen to some of these views. She might have some great ideas.
She may be proven right when the cycle changes in the future.
