I hold 1,000,000 shares in Country Garden at an average price of HK$2.42. The total holding is $2,420,000 (S$410,000).
My normal holding for a China stock is $150,000. This holding is 3 times of the "normal".
I consider the value of Country Garden to be $3. When it dropped at various stages to $2, I increased my holdings.
Country Garden is the largest developer in China (after the collapse of Evergrande). It will not be allowed to fail. It has a low PE ratio and a high dividend yield. When the price kept dropping to $2, I increased my holdings.
Country Garden jumped 12.5% on 11 April. My holding of $$410,000 appreciated by S$51,000. It is still below my cost.
I am now selling 300,000 shares (short term holdings) at prices up to $2.40. After that, my holding will drop to 700,000 shares. I will wait for the price to go beyond $2.70 before I sell the remaining shares.
Note - this is a personal opinion. It is not investment advice.
