Review of Barrick Gold (GLD)
16 Apr 2021 (173 views)

I bought 2,000 shares of Barrick Gold (GLD) in September at $28.61 USD. It dropped to $18.67 in February 2021. My paper loss was $20,000 USD or 35% of my invested sum.

This is a gold mining share. It increased by 4.1% last night to $21.98 due to a small recovery in the gold price.

I expect gold price to recover further ($1,764 last night) and it will also be good for this stock.

I also hold 400 shares of SPDR Gold ETF at $177 USD. The current price is $165 giving me a 7% loss. I am also waiting for the gold price to recover further.

At the closing prices last night, I am carrying a paper loss of $13,200 in Barrick Gold and $4,700 in the Gold ETF, giving a total loss of $17,900 USD.

Note - this is my observation. I am not recommending to buy or sell this stock at any price.
