My investment in Cosco Shipping Energy (1138.HK)
12 May 2021 (219 views)

I held 264,000 shares of Cosco Shipping Energy at an average cost of $3.49 HKD. It sold 100,000 shares at $3.99 for a realized profit of $50,000 HKD. I am still holding to 164,000 shares.

I bought the shares a month ago for the following reasons:

a) The shares were traded in Hong Kong at a discount of about 50% to the price in Shanghai.

b) It has a price earning ratio of 5.99 times and a dividend yield of 6.42%.

When the price reached $3.99, I decided to sell 100,000 shares (about 40% of my holdings). I will sell the remaining 60,000 at a higher price, maybe $4.20 or higher.

Note - I am sharing my view on this stock. I am not giving investment advice for others to buy or sell the stock at any specific price.
